Medical-Surgical Nursing Care of the Adult and Child I is the first of two (2) courses focusing on the care of culturally diverse adults/children who are experiencing health deviations related to specific systems.  This course is designed to assist the student in developing an understanding of the pathophysiology of selected health deviations of the adult/child and the medical and surgical nursing management used for the client to sustain or regain health.  Emphasis is placed on the relationship of nursing process to the care provided to assigned clients.  Alterations in the growth and development of children are also addressed in this course.
